Bordering the ever-changing waters of the Manukau, the Gateway Heritage area lies sandwiched between Auckland City in the north and the Auckland International Airport in the south. At its heart is Mangere Mountain, one of the best preserved examples of Auckland's volcanic cones and craters. From the summit you look out over the Manukau Harbour and the ancient lands of Ihumatao.
