Duders Regional Park
Turning inland towards Clevedon you’ll find yet another of Auckland’s regional parks. Duder Regional Park is set on 148 hectares of open land, bush and beaches. The land is grazed by just over 600 head of stock, namely Romney and Coopworths and Hereford cattle, to keep the vegetation level low so the views remain uninterrupted. An aerial view of Duder Regional Park shows a peninsula of lush rolling farmland extending out into majestic azure waters.
Duder Regional Park is the place for unparalleled views of the Hauraki Gulf. Put on your tramping boots or saddle up your mountain bike - your horse too if you have a permit - and discover Duder.
Duder Regional Park is located on the pohutukawa-fringed Whakakaiwhara Peninsula which juts out into the Tamaki Strait. The park provides breathtaking views of land and sea - see how many islands you can spot from Whakakaiwhara Point.
To the south of the park, there is extensive salt marsh and shell banks where the New Zealand Dotterel nest. As the Dotterel is an endangered bird, we ask that you please stay off the shell banks to help protect them.
